About The Firm

Theatine Partners was founded in 2020 to offer clients independent strategic and financial advice of a character and quality largely unavailable in today’s Wall Street financial services marketplace.  All too many financial institutions and professional service providers are encumbered with business conflicts, a transactional mindset, and a “one size fits all” approach that offer clients a single “hammer” for their distinctive “nails”.

Our mission is to help our clients meet their objectives through a merchant banking approach, where our success aligns with yours.  We do this by undertaking detailed analysis, informed by empirical discipline, and offering a level of judgment commensurate with our decades of relevant experience.  We place special emphasis on communicating clearly with clients and counterparties, acting always with the highest integrity, and maintaining the highest levels of professionalism even in the most challenging of situations.

We were founded and are led by Richard Shinder, a 30-year veteran of Wall Street with extensive experience in investment banking restructuring advisory, distressed investing, special situations lending, and leveraged finance.
